The Start Of Successfou: A Long
Message from the Founder

It started in the early 90s. I was a hired gun on Wall Street, consulting for Fortune 100 companies; designing large-scale data systems and building some of the earliest direct digital marketing campaigns. “Big data” was still wild, and the internet had just begun to whisper its potential. It was fast, trailblazing, and I loved it and thrived in it.
At the same time, I was living in a small attic apartment in Stamford, Connecticut. I’d just passed a major personal milestone, earning over $100K a year. A dream I’d worked hard for. But in 1994, during a meditation, something bigger arrived. I felt like I was in direct conversation with God. And in that stillness, this idea came to me about a positive news and a positive story of successful peoples lives that was actually reachable and achievable, vs. idolisation, which was the only type of media at the time. It was there that the seed of SuccessFou began. A seed for something the world didn’t yet have.

So, I started it, very quietly at first, like a delicate baby I was trying to bring into the world without scathe. A side project while still deep in my consulting work. (Get the full story if you sign up for the SuccessFou Skinny below.)

Life, of course, kept moving. I kept building my career, moving into bigger spaces for me (and my cat) and staying on the climb. Then came 9/11. I was consulting to JPMC working on Wall & Water and that morning, at about 9:30, I was stood on Broadway, watching smoke bellowing out windows high in the sky, in disbelief, and scorching these images into my memory one still at a time – as I snapped pictures through the lens of my Canon – the ground shook as the building slowly disappeared behind a storm of beige and gray clouds behind it, and then everywhere. That day didn’t just shake the city, it cracked something in me. And in the coming days, once I realised I was safe, those closest to me safe, I asked myself again What now? And louder it came, a purpose and a reason and a sense of urgency. SuccessFou started growing legs.
I began moving quickly, trademarking, exploring copyright for tech-to-behavior change concepts, and working with teams in India and Florida to bring the idea to life. Using my income to fund it. When most of my 20 & 30 something peers were meeting with friends on weekends and celebrating successes – I was working. Then life shifted again. I moved to LA in 2006 as part of an acquisition, then on to Europe, where I worked for a global bank. I met my husband, started a family, and kept growing. But SuccessFou never left me. It stayed tucked inside me like a bookmark in my spirit.

Now, it’s here. SuccessFou is no longer an idea or a paused side hustle. It’s a video and audio podcast on all major platforms that gets my full attention 7 days a week. A space for raw, meaningful conversations with extraordinary people from every walk of life. We dive into the real stories, the setbacks, the turning points—and the tools people actually use to succeed. But this isn’t about showcasing unreachable greatness. I interview people in a way that makes you feel like you know them and like you could walk in their shoes, use their tools, and shape your own future.
