Message from our Founder

The story of SuccessFou began in the early 1990s. At the time, I was working on Wall Street, independent consulting to Fortune 100 companies, designing large-scale data systems and pioneering some of the very first direct digital marketing campaigns. “Big data” was still in its infancy, and the internet had only just begun to reveal its potential. It was fast, uncharted, and full of possibility…and I thrived in it.
Outside of work, my life was modest. I lived in a small top-floor flat in Stamford, Connecticut. A quiet space where I meditated, rested, and studied what I didn’t yet know. Less than two years out of my Oracle DBA track at Columbia U, I had already reached a milestone I once only dreamed of: earning a good six-figure salary. It felt surreal, humbling and affirming all at once, to achieve it so quickly and so young.
And yet, after reaching that goal, the arrival fallacy set in. I found myself asking, “What now?” As a regular meditator, guided years earlier by a Buddhist teacher, I turned inward. One day, in the stillness, something shifted. It felt like a direct download from beyond myself and a surge of clarity about what was missing and what would truly light me up for the rest of my life. It was, in every sense, a calling.

I realised the world didn’t need another tale of untouchable success. The media still glorifies it, making achievement feel reserved for others. What’s missing is a hopeful, honest narrative. One that shows success is real and within reach.
Headlines and podcasts focus on the famous or infamous. I wasn’t chasing fame. I wanted to spotlight everyday people you might never hear about unless you worked in the same industry as them. Most people shy from fame anyway, and treating it as the standard is limiting and unrealistic.
So I set out to show the wide range of paths and jobs, especially for those still figuring things out. By sharing authentic stories, readers could see themselves in others and imagine new possibilities.
That clarity sparked SuccessFou: real stories of achievement, grounded in truth and inspiration, a positive alternative to the media’s old playbook. That moment of clarity sparked what would become SuccessFou, a vision to share authentic stories of achievement, grounded in truth and inspiration, offering a positive alternative to the media of the time.

And this way of thinking, that success is accessible, spiritual, practical, human, and contagious IS the heart of SuccessFou! We (me & my small but determined team) hope you enjoy it!
